Childline 1098 service now in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 2: HELP (Human Effort for Love and Peace) foundation, J&K in coordination with Childline India Foundation launched CHILDLINE 1098 at three districts of Kashmir. The CHILDLINE 1098 is being implemented in Mokokchung through the initiatives of the Care & Support Society (C&SS) Mokokchung.
CHILDLINE 1098 is a national 24 hours free, phone emergency outreach service for children in need of care and protection and is a project of the Union Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India.
A short presentation on the Introduction of CHILDLINE 1098 was given by CHILDLINE India Foundation.
Nighat Shafi Chairperson HELP Foundation of the CHILDLINE 1098 Service said that it has implemented service in Srinagar and it is operation at three districts of Kashmir valley Anantnag, Kulgam and Srinagar. CHILDLINE service is a toll number 1098. Sofar many grievances under different categories have been addressed in these three districts. She said that 2500 cases have been added since early months of this year. They had restored 8 children’s from trafficking from last month.
Hakeem Javaid Director Shehjar Theatre Group and Iris Yousuf Coordinator Childline Srinagar werealso present during the press conferance.
