Jammu, Sep 30: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, conducted an extensive tour of Sirgwari, Pakalan, Kurna, Sarawan, Mangthalla, Feller, Kuriya areas of Thakrie block and addressed series of workers meetings.
While addressing the workers, Saroori that the PDP and the BJP owe an apology to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for compromising their interests and they kept their personal interests above the larger interest of the people on every front, be it development, governance, security or political aspirations.
Saroori said of all the regional parties in the country PDP stands out for its dubious role and its inability to raise vital issues facing the state. He said the PDP-BJP coalition was an unholy alliance” stitched together with the “singular agenda of remaining in power. As a consequence, public interest became a causality. The failed PDP-BJP experience has posed a big challenge for the Congress to restore peoples’ faith in parliamentary democracy as NC is bit confused to tackle the situation in JK, he added.
He said the Congress, which believed in secularism, unity and communal amity, alone could undo the damage inflicted by the erstwhile government’s divisive politics and said the coming Lok Sabha polls are a fight for dignity and justice for the people of the state.
Saroori said that PDP was instrumental in sowing the seeds of RSS and Sangh Parivar in Jammu and Kashmir. “Because of Sangh and RSS there is uncertainty in the whole country,” he said and cautioned people not to fall into their trap. He also said that history will not forgive PDP. “What would Mehbooba ji be saying today? After the alliance she was praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi round the clock.”
He also met with all the victim’s families to offer personal condolences who died in an accident last week in Thakrie. He stayed with the bereaved family and expressed his sympathy and solidarity with them. He prayed to the Almighty Allah for eternal peace to the departed souls. He also informed that two patients are still in PGI Chandigarh and Congress leader from Thakrie Abdul Jabbar is accompanying them. He said we are in touch with the hospital authorities where we have asked them to extend best-possible treatment to the injured in the accident. He assured all possible support, assistant to the victim’s family.
MLA Inderwal also inspected the blacktopping work of Sirgwari-Keshwan, Sarawan and Mangthalla roads and directed the concerned executing agencies to expedite the pace of work and ensure qualitative works on ground. He said that road connectivity to hilly, far flung and rural areas are the prime requirement for their growth and development. He said most of the population living in hilly areas of the district has been connected with road connectivity and the work on various road projects is going on at pace. He said road connectivity acts as an indicator of development and help in both social and economic upliftment of the people.
On the occasion people put forth various demands to which Saroori assured the general public of their redressal on priority.
The PDP youth leader from Mangthalla Thakrie, Waseem Akram Rather also joined Congress in presence of Saroori. While welcoming, Saroori said this gives us an idea about the changing circumstances. So many youngsters want to join and work with our new president Rahul Gandhi. I am sure it won’t stop with this and the Congress would become the strongest party in the country. Congress has all along provided platform to young people so that they can play their role in shaping destiny of the state and would empower them to fight the myriad challenges the State is faced with.
