ITeA chief arrested in Bandipora

Srinagar, Sep 21: Chairman of Islami Tenzeen-e- Azadi (ITeA) Abdul Samad Malla alias Inquilabi was arrested by security forces from his house late last night in the north Kashmir district of Bandipora, official sources said.
Inquilabi who was evading arrest for the past some time was arrested by a joint search party of security forces and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police from his house at Ganasthan, Bandipora late last night.
The family members of Inquilabi alleged that security forces raided their houses several times in the past. They further alleged that before taken him into custody, security forces ransacked the entire house and harassed the other inmates.
The ITeA chairman was taken to unknown places, they said.
Inquilabi has filed a case in a local court at Bandipora demanding Rs 10 crore compensation for detaining him during the past 25 hours without any justification as his detention under Public Safety Act (PSA) was quashed by different courts.
