Srinagar, Sep 21: Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh on Friday condemned killing of three policemen in south Kashmir’s Shopian district and declared that some welfare measures for welfare of Special Police Officers (SPOs) are under consideration of the Government.
Talking to reporters after the killings Dilbagh said “police has conducted recent operations against the militants successfully and killings of SPOs by militants show their desperation. SPOs are doing a good job for the security of the people. Some welfare measures for SPOs are under consideration of the Government and will be announced soon.”
Saying that politicians, civil society and people of other walks of life have condemned the killing of policemen Dilbagh said “perpetrators of the killing of SPOs won’t be allowed to go scott free, action will be taken against them very soon after proper verification. Policemen are going to meet their families and are killed during the time when they are on leave. We will look into it and take appropriate measures.” (KNS)
