Shopian shuts to remember four civilians killed in 2013

Srinagar, Sep 7: Life was crippled on Friday in Shopian district in south Kashmir on the 5th death anniversary of four youths allegedly killed in security force firing and against arrest of youths during overnight raids, official sources said.
They said shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads. Work in government offices and educational institutions was affected.
However, traffic on historic Mughal road, connecting Shopian in south Kashmir with Rajouri and Poonch was plying though additional security forces have been deployed to prevent any untoward incident.
Four youth including a non-local Labourer and three locals Tawseef Ahmad Bhat resident of Baba Mohalla Shopian, Mohammad Yousuf Sofi resident of Durpora, Zainapora, Shopian and Tariq Ahmad Mir resident of Okay, Kulgam were killed at Gagren area of the Shopian on this day in 2013.
The strike was also against the arrest of youths during night raids in the district, they said.
