PDD fixes electric wires on trees in Lolab Dharamwari

Lolab, Sep 5: Risking the lives, the Power Development Department (PDD) has fixed electric wires on trees in Dharamwari area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district pose a serious threat to the local residents of the area.
Residents of Dharamwari Lolab said that in whole village high voltage electric wires are hanging on the trees pose a threat to the residents.
“It shows the callous attitude of the power development department (PDD) on the ground. They said most of the wooden poles installed in the area decades ago were damaged and instead of installing new cement or iron poles, PDD officials choose to hang wires on trees.
A local resident said that they approached PDD officials many times to install iron or cement poles in the area, but they don’t pay any heed to our demands, he said, “ We regularly pay electric tariff bills, but PDD is not paying any heed to our long pending genuine demand.
