Rajouri admin finalises MGNREGA convergence plan

Rajouri, Aug 31: District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today chaired a meeting of District officers, to finalize the Convergence Plan under MGNREGA.
The meeting was attended by ACD Rajouri Akhter Hussain Qazi, Chief Planning Officer Abdul Hamid, District Panchayat Officer, Abdul Khabir, Chief Agriculture Officer, Rajouri Mohd Younis, Ex-En PHE Nisar Khan, Ex-EN I&FC Sunil Koul, Ex-En PHE Nowshera Mr. Attri, besides other officers and officials of Horticulture, Education, IWMP ect.
Assistant Commissioner Development informed that last year Rs. 106.00 crore was utilized under MGNREGA and significant number of assets were created including Panchayat Ghars, Bridges, Community Facilitation centres, besides completion of other works. ACD apprised the DDC that funds under MGNREGA may be utilized under Convergence mode with small contributions from Line Departments in respect of permissible activities.
After threadbare discussion, the DDC finalized the plan Proposals of Youth Services and Departments, wherein 138 Nos of Play fields with Estd. Cost of Rs. 1.80 Lacs (each), shall be developed and a total implication shall be Rs. 234.00 Lacs.
Under Horticulture Sector, the meeting decided to take up construction of 100 water Harvesting tanks to reduce the scarcity/crisis of Water portability in Rural areas. It was further decided to construct 20 Angadwari Centres with Cost implication of Rs 1.40 crore, out of which Rs. 1 crore shall be utilized under MGNREGA. 04
Similarly four Khuls shall developed to augment irrigation facility .
The DDC also directed to take up the Construction of 182 Tractor/Link roads/ bridal Paths under convergence mode, for which Rs. 4.26 crore shall be utilized out of MGNREGA and Rs. 183.40 lakh swill be provided out of BADP funds.
The meeting decided for inclusion of PMAY and Construction of 111 Panchayat Ghars, in intra Convergence Mode.
Convergence plan of Rs. 63.50 crore was finalized in the meeting with a target of completing 3538 Works during the current financial year.
