Bandipora, Aug 27, CNS: Yesteryears crystal clear stream at Ajas Bandipora in North Kashmir has turned into a pool of sewage due to negligence of people as well as district administration.
Known as ‘Bud Kul’, that flows in the middle of the Ajas town was once known for crystal clear water but now it has become a garbage dumping site. The locals dump garbage into it in broad day light while the authorities are in deep slumber and showing no interest in stopping such practice.
A local Irshad Ahmed told CNS that people dump garbage and other unwanted material into the stream as Municipality has failed to install dust bins in the town.
“We request the district administration Bandipora to get this stream cleaned at the earliest to prevent any epidemic from breaking out in the area,” said social
activist Haroon Lone. (CNS)
