Threaten indefinite strike for delay in implementation of 7th pay commission
Srinagar, Aug 17: Jammu Kashmir Rehbar -e-Taleem (ReT) teachers forum State wide school lock out following with protests in favour of their demands which includes implementation of seventh pay commission and de-linking of SSA salaries from MHRD to state budget .
According to a statement, the ReT teachers are going to held state wide protest from Monday with directorate gherao at Srinagar and on 22th August Eid day teachers are going to protest at Partap park Srinagar followed by Rajbawan March. This decision was taken by the forum in a state executive meeting held at Srinagar in which Zonal Presidents, District presidents and state apex body members was present.
During the meeting which was held under the chairmanship of state forum chairman Farooq Ahmed Tantary forum representatives throughout the state present their views regarding the delay in implementation of 7th pay commission in favour of more than 41 thousand RET teachers of state. They said that during the past one year so many committees were formed to solve the issues of RET teachers but nothing concrete will done so for. They said that they were regularized in the state under government order number 396 and they was given all the benefits like other employees of the state and after the recent implementation of seventh pay commission they were not given the benefits of this commission reason best known to government. They further said that they have service books, got time bound promotions, and sixth pay commission was also giving to them in past and now due to unknown reasons seventh pay commission were delayed in their favour.
They said during the protest two months back on eid ul fitr at Srinagar the then CM Mehbooba Mufti assured them to solve this issue .They said that teachers are in mental trauma due to this injustice, they appealed the civil society of the state also to help them and raise voice to resolve this genuine issue of the teachers of the state.
Forum leaders said that they are happy in giving education to the ward’s of poor parents of the state in the schools but they were forced to come on roads. They more said that they spent and provide their precious five years service of their life in a little amount of rupees 1500 per month to the education sector of the state keeping in mind that after the satisfactory service of five years they were considered as like as other teachers of the state which also mentioned in their regularization orders.
