Srinagar, Aug 16: All Tribal Coordination Committee (ATCC) Thursday staged a protest in Srinagar’s Patab Park against the arrest of Talib Hussain who was the prime campaigner of Kautha rape and murder case.
The protesting members were holding banners and placards and were shouting slogans in favour of Advocate Talib Hussain.
ATCC members assembled in the premises of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Office here and demanded the immediate release of Talib Hussain, saying that he was booked under a fake charge.
Talking to a news agency, Riaz Ahmed said that, “Talib is innocent and he has been involved in rape case for some reason, he appealed to the administration that the Talib should be released as soon as possible.
In January, Hussain, who was detained during protests against the murder, had said that the persons involved in this “heinous crime” are not being punished because of “political influence”. He was only released the next day after his arrested sparked protest in the Assembly. Since then he has been at the forefront to secure justice for the victim.
Earlier Hussain had claimed that the real culprits in the rape and murder of minor Kathua girl were being shielded in a planned manner under the “guise of 15-year-old’s age”.
“Her two ribs and a leg were broken. She was given electric shocks. She was clubbed by stones,” Hussain had said. (PTK)
