Srinagar, Aug 15: Amid restrictions, Kashmir observed a complete shutdown on Wednesday as the I-Day parades were held at different places.
The call for shutdown was issued by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) – comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik.
All shops and other business establishments remained shut in Srinagar and other districts of the Valley while traffic was off the roads.  Meanwhile, police and paramilitary forces were deployed in strength in Srinagar city where the main I-Day function was held at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium in Sonwar.
