Police arrest man posing as Vigilance Commissioner in Srinagar

Srinagar, Aug 7: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a person, who was duping people by impersonating as a Vigilance Commissioner, and his wife here.
A police official said that police arrested a person, Javed Akhtar — and his wife Nishat Akhtar, resident of Lakashmi Nager in New Delhi — for allegedly duping people by impersonating as Vigilance Commissioner.
He said the accused was wanted in a case registered in Police Station Rajbagh. “Further investigation in the case in going on,” he said.
He said general public is requested that if anyone has any grievance or has been cheated or duped by them may report in Police Station Rajbagh for the resolution of their matters.
