Nothing to celebrate in deferment of hearing: Rafi Mir

Srinagar, Aug 6: Peoples Democratic Party chief spokesperson, Rafi Ahmad Mir Monday said there was nothing to celebrate in Supreme Court’s order deferring the hearing on petitions challenging Article 35-A
“Deferment of SC hearing is nothing to be celebrated about. GoI will have to take a clear stand & the Hon. @jandkgovernor must ensure that the state is on a strong legal foot. The pot continues to boil, uncertainty hovering above us. #Article35A,” Mir wrote on Twitter shortly after Apex court deferred the hearing till August 27.
Meanwhile former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti also said the deferment of hearing of article 35A had brought interim relief to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, despite it not being the solution.
She also said that the uncertainty looming over the status of the article 35A had unleashed a wave of anxiety among the people of the state.
Taking to her Twitter handle she wrote, “Even though the deferment of hearing on Article 35 A is not a solution, it has brought interim relief to the people of JK. But with uncertainty looming over its status, it has unleashed a wave of anxiety and panic amongst the people of J & K.
The PDP president expressed her views after the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing of article 35A till August 27. (PTK)
