Tarigam-Qazigund residents protest against bad condition of roads

Anantnag, Aug 2 : Residents of Lonepora Tarigam in south Kashmir’s Qazigund town are up in arms against bad condition of the road in Qazigund town. Locals Thursday held a protest demonstration against the district administration.
Eyewitness said that residents of Tarigam hit the roads at Tarigam and started protests against the Roads and Buildings department (R&B) for ignoring the local road.
Alleging that the district administration was adopting a negligent approach towards the area, the locals said that they are facing immense hard-ships.
“Due to bad condition of road and lack of proper drainage system, the commuters are facing immense problems”, locals alleged.
“Our village is with two constituencies half with Dooru and half with Devsar but no MLA is giving attention towards our genuine demand” Shamem Ahmad Wagay, a local.
He said if their demands were not fulfilled soon, they would be forced to intensify their agitation.
The inhabitants said that due to pathetic condition of the road- students, employees and patients face immense hardships to reach their respective destinations.
They added that authorities have failed us on every front, because of this step-motherly approach, we are yet to see any development in our village, locals added.
