Srinagar, Aug 3: Central University of Kashmir (CUK) and Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) (J&K Chapter) has decided to organise seminars, symposia and other events in near future.
In this regard, a meeting was held with CUK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir in chair. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Gh Nabi Qasba, Prof. S Fayaz Ahmad, Prof SM Afzal Qadiri, G J Nehvi IAS (Retd), Prof. Abdul Ghani, Prof. G M Bhat, Prof. M A Dar, Prof. SA Rathore and SGM Andrabi Joint Secretary IIPA.
The meeting decided to hold daylong symposium/ Seminar on the topics “Flood Preparedness in Kashmir” and “Need to fight Drug Addiction” between September to November 2018 in association with the Central University of Kashmir (CUK). A Sub-Committee comprising Dr. G N Qasba and Mr. GJ Nehvi will coordinate the organizing of these two events. Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir assured all possible help and assistance to IIPA in organizing these activities.
The meeting also decided to hold annual Inter-college/ Inter-University/Inter-Department debate at Kashmir University in the near future: The topic for this debate was chosen to be “Youth are not taking full advantage of on line information Systems.” The Vice-Chairman and Prof. Qadri will hold a meeting with DSW of Kashmir University next week to finalise the arrangements of this debate.
It was also decided to launch a membership drive for 10 slots earmarked for Kashmir. Dr. G N Qasba will oversee this issue so that only right people are registered as Honorary members.
The suggestion of VC CUK to hold an interactive session of IIPA members at Kashmir University in order to rejuvenate the IIPA activities in KU, received full support. It was agreed to convene it in 3rd week of August.
The Vice-Chairman thanked CUK for their support to IIPA in conduct of its activities.
