Srinagar, Jul 15: Taking a dig at Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) for protesting at winter capital, Jammu, against former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti for her statement that centre was trying to split her party Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), National Conference (NC) vice president Omar Abdullah said did BJP think that peoples are fools and would not punish their (BJP) selective memory.
Taking to micro blogging site twitter Omar Abdullah said “It didn’t matter when army establishments were attacked all over Jammu, soldiers kidnapped & killed, Amarnath yatris & tourists killed but suddenly @MehboobaMufti is enemy number one. The BJP thinks people are fools & won’t punish their selective memory”.
He was reacting to reports that BJP activists protest, burn Mehbooba Mufti’s effigy in Jammu for her statement against the centre.
BJP after sharing power with PDP for more than three years last month pulled out from the coalition government headed by Mehbooba Mufti, alleging discrimination with Ladakh and Jammu. However, after resignation as chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti alleged that centre was trying to split the PDP when four MLAs openly criticized the party leadership (Mehbooba) alleging nepotism.
However, yesterday BJP hold a demonstration at Jammu and burnt effigy of Mehbooba for her statement that Kashmir will witness more militancy if any attempt was made to split her PDP.
