Mission for which martyrs of 1931 yet to be accomplished: Yasin Malik

Srinagar, Jul 13: Chairman JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik who was arrested by police on 6 July and continues to remain lodged at police station Khothibagh along with Tehreeq-I-Hurriyat leader Umar Adil Dar, in a message sent out from incarceration has said that 13th July 1931 is a day when Kashmiri martyrs sacrificed their lives for a sacred cause and that no one can ever forget these sacrifices or turn a blind eye towards theses sacrifices.
He said that 13th July, teaches us resistances and persistence and we as a nation owe reverence to them. He said that present struggle for freedom is actually a continuation of the struggle and sacrifices rendered by martyrs of 1931.
He said that Kashmiris fully know that the mission for which martyrs of 1931, sacrificed their lives for is not yet accomplished and today when we are recalling theses sacrifices, we pledge to continue our struggle for complete freedom and self determination and face every hardship that comes is this way.
Meanwhile, JKLF incarcerated chairman has expressed his heart felt grief and sorrow over the demise of veteran social figure of district Anantnag Ghuam Muhammad Sofi. Deceased was father of senior resistance leader Mukthar Ahmad Sofi. Terming his demise as a personal grief, and a loss to resistance movement, JKLF chairman said that departed soul was a steadfast Muslim and selfless human and today his departure has saddened us all.
On receiving the news of his demise, JKLF vice chairman advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt rushed to Islamabad and participated in his funeral and condolence meeting. Bashir while praying for his heavenly abode also expressed condolences to the bereaved family including his son Mukthar Ahmad Sofi.
