Srinagar, Jul 13: The conduct of an official meeting by the Chief Secretary BVR Subramanyam at the civil secretariat attended by most of the administrative secretaries on Friday the 13th of July 2018 a state holiday attracted severe condemnation from the opposition leaders including National Conference vice president and former chief minister Omar Abdullah.
Talking to reporters after paying tributes to 1931 martyrs at martyrs’ graveyard Naqashband Sahab Srinagar, the NC vice president and former chief minister Omar Abdullah said “the conduct of the meeting at the civil secretariat and presence of top officials in the civil secretariat on July 13 a declared state holiday is highly questionable and condemnable. This should not have happened.”
A top retired government official on conditions of anonymity said “the officials who were supposed to attend the meeting should have briefed chief secretary about the importance of 13th July one day before the meeting was scheduled for this day. This should not have happened as this is a violation of government guidelines.” (KNS)
