The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday filed a chargesheet against Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in connection with the Unnao rape case. The Bangermau legislator is already in jail for allegedly raping the teenager in June 2017.The complainant has accused Sengar of raping her at his home in 2014 when she had gone to meet him about a job. In April, she tried to commit suicide outside Chief Minister Adityanath’s house, alleging that the police did not act though she had approached them several months earlier. The CBI arrested Sengar on April 13. Earlier, the CBI filed a chargesheet against Sengar’s brother and four others in connection with the killing of the complainant’s father. The father, who was in judicial custody after he got into a fight with the MLA’s brother Atul Singh Sengar, died on April 9.The police soon arrested Atul Sengar and four others for assaulting the man. In May, the CBI booked Kuldeep Singh Sengar for criminal conspiracy, for framing the complainant’s father. The man’s autopsy report had listed multiple abrasions near the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, above and below knee joints and arms, indicating that his death may have been caused by physical assault.
