Former chief minister and National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah has reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir assembly should be dissolved to stop rumours from flying.
Since the day PDP-BJP government has crumbled under its own weight Omar has been playing smart. He has distanced himself and his party from the government formation and has tried to keep his flock together. So far he has succeeded.
For the past many days speculations are rife that splinter group from Peoples Democratic Party may join hands with the BJP to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir. There is a possibility about the PDP splitting into two and one faction joining hands with the BJP as the Jammu and Kashmir assembly is in suspended animation and it can be revived anytime.
The splinter group of PDP which would be apparently headed by Imran Ansari has not opened its cards and it has not made it clear that how many PDP legislators are ready to join the group.
Bharatiya Janata Party National General Secretary Ram Mdahav has denied that BJP is making any attempt to form the government and his party is okay with the Governor’s rule in J&K. The BJP leaders from the state unit who were giving the statement about the government formation have been asked to keep quiet and allow the things to settle down.
There are rumours that Sajad Lone, who was assigned the job by BJP to frame a roadmap for the government formation, in Jammu and Kashmir has cobbled up the numbers but the negotiations have got stuck due to a few people in BJP insisting upon installing a Hindu Chief Minister in J&K.
The NC vice-president Omar Abdullah is demanding that Assembly should be dissolved to prevent horse trading. He knows that when it comes to power dissidents can topple any party and it could be National Conference also.
