Though Bharatiya Janata Party has distanced itself from the speculations that its leaders are working on a roadmap to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir, the rumours are rife that something or other would happen soon.
During the past few days people have been hearing that the rebel PDP legislators are in touch with the BJP and PDP may split with major chunk of MLAs forming another group which can join hands with the BJP and give shape to a new dispensation in Jammu and Kashmir.
Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and the President of Peoples Democratic Party Mehbooba Mufti has already expressed apprehensions that BJP may engineer a split in her party. She has warned that if it happens people would lose faith in democracy and the democratic institutions.
The political events which have unfurled during the past few days indicate that something is cooking. May be Ram Madhav is not aware about it or is just feigning ignorance about the issue.
According to the media reports a group of about fifteen PDP MLAs has already made up its mind to say goodbye to PDP and join hands with the BJP to rule the state. The murmurs within the political circles reveal that BJP is pitching for installing a Hindu Chief Minister in Jammu and Kashmir so that it can sell it as one of its major achievements in the forthcoming parliamentary polls.
At present no one wants to come on record and top leaders are denying that nothing is happening. But the PDP leaders coming out in open against the party’s top leadership indicates that there is more than what is meeting the eye. There is every possibility about a surprise being sprung after Amarnath Yatra ends.
