MGNREGA employees to observe 48 hours protest from Monday

Srinagar, Jul 6: MGNREGA contractual employees have decided to stage 48 hours protest from Monday against the non-seriousness of government to absorb them in the department.
J&K MGNREGA Employees Association Chairman Syed Jaffar said the demonstration will be held at every district headquarter from Monday. He said that government framed job policy and absorbed thousands of casual and contractual labourers in different departments, however, so far it has failed to frame any proper job policy for them.
“We appeal present dispensation to fulfill our genuine demands and absorb us in Rural Development Department.”
Vice Chairman, MGNREGA Employees Association, Sandeep Kalotra said that they will go for indefinite protest in case government fails to fulfill their demands. (CNS)
