Qayoom Wani threatens to resume protests over salary issues of SSA teachers

Langate, Jun 28: President Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) Abdul Qayoom Wani on Thursday warned Vohra administration of intensifying street protests if it didn’t immediately delink the salaries of SSA teachers and disburse their salaries according to 7th pay commission recommendations.
Addressing an educational conference of Zone Mawer in Langate area of frontier district Kupwara organised to bid farewell to some teachers on their superannuation, Wani said SSA teachers and head teachers have intensely increased the enrollment in SSA schools and work tirelessly to provide quality education to the children of poor masses in rural and urban areas of the state.
Seeking the intervention of Governor N N Vohra for immediate resolution of salary delinking and disbursement of wages as per 7th pay commission recommendations, Wani said if the stalemate continues for more time the teachers will again hit streets the responsibility of which shall lie on the government but not the teachers.
