Srinagar, Jun 22: Militants attacked an Army vehicle in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on Friday evening.
Army sources said that militants, who were hiding in an orchard at Machpuna in Pulwama, fired at an Army vehicle on Friday evening. “The soldiers also retaliated, ensuing in a brief exchange of fire,” they said.
They said the militants managed to escape, adding no one was injured in the attack. Additional security forces have been rushed and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers.
The attack comes hours after nine security personnel, including five Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, were injured when militants lobbed a hand grenade attack on a patrol party at Tral in Pulwama.
