Srinagar, Jun 21: BJP on Thursday said that doors of the saffron party are open to all political parties including PDP in the aftermath of the fall of the Mehbooba government in Jammu & Kashmir.
Talking to a news agency BJP State Secretary (Organisation), Ashok Koul said, “BJP did not betray PDP but the decision to withdraw support to PDP was taken by the central leadership in the larger national interests keeping in view the worsening law and order situation in Kashmir Valley. For BJP restoration of peace and order in Jammu & Kashmir is a priority supreme to all other party interests,” he said.
In reply to a question Koul said, “Normalcy will be restored under governor’s rule and steps will be taken to restore the faith of the people in the rule of law and working of the government. Police, paramilitaries and army have done a commendable job in fighting the subversive forces and priority is restoration of peace and order in the state. We still look for friendly relations with Mehbooba Mufti led PDP and all other political parties but priority is restoration of peace and harmony in all the three regions of the state.” (KNS)
