Aga Hasan welcomes UN report on Kashmir

Srinagar, Jun 14: Welcoming the OHCHR report on human rights violations in Kashmir, senior separatist leader and president Anjuman Shari Shian Aga Syed Hasan said the report is the first ever by a UN body on Kashmir. He also welcomed the report on Palestine.
“The report has recognized the grave human rights violations by the state, especially during the last thirty years, taking place in Kashmir,” he said in a statement.
A report by the UN Human Rights Office published on Thursday said, “There is an urgent need to address past and ongoing human rights violations and abuses and deliver justice for all people in Kashmir, who for seven decades have suffered a conflict that has claimed or ruined numerous lives.”
Aga Syed Hasan said the detailed report by the world body reflects the ground situation of Kashmir and details how the people here are denied all freedoms and justice.
Aga Syed Hasan who addressed congregational Friday prayers condemned the killing of renowned journalist Shujhat Bukhari. He demanded that fair probe should be initiated to expose the killers. (CNS)
