Special DGP visits slain cop’s family at Kupwara

Srinagar, Jun 13: Special Director General of Police, (Hqrs) PHQ Jammu and Kashmir V K Singh, IPS along with his wife Vijaya Singh accompanied by SP Kupwara Shriram Dinkar Ambarkar-IPS and other officers visited the house of slain cop SgCt Ghulam Rasool Lone at Village Gagal Lolab in north Kashmir’s District Kupwara, who was killed on Monday in attack at new District Court Complex Pulwama.
The Special DGP extended condolences on behalf of DGP Jammu and Kashmir to the bereaved family and assured of all possible assistance to the family of the slain police man which includes job to the next of the kin and bearing educational expenses of the slain cops children, a spokesperson said.
A spokesperson added that the Special DGP also assured the family that the amount of ex-gratia relief will be paid to the family as soon as legal formalities are completed and also directed SP Kupwara to get the paper work done at the earliest.
The Special DGP met the grief stricken family members of the slain cop and while highlighting the supreme sacrifice made by the slain assured them that the whole Police Department is like a family which stands by them in this hour of grief, said a police spokesperson.
Vijaya Singh especially met the widow of the slain cop and consoled her, a spokesperson said.
