Govt failed to meet aspirations of common people: Hakeem Yaseen

Srinagar, Jun 13: Chairman PDF and MLA Khansahib, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has urged the Government to release monthly salary and wages of all employees and workers working in various Government and semi Government departments before coming Eid-ul-Fitr.
In a statement, Hakeem Yaseen said that various deputations comprising works and employees of Tourism, education, PHE, Fisheries and urban Local Bodies met him during last two days who have complained that their families are starving due to nonpayment of monthly salary and wages to them by the respective departments. He has asked the Government to take urgent measures to ensure payment of salary to all such employees and workers so that they along with their family members could celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr without any difficulty. He said Government should work out a practicable solution to ensure release of monthly wages and salaries in favour of its workers and employees on regular basis.” For this purpose, the Planning and Monitoring departments should mobilize adequate resources in anticipation and keep adequate funds at the disposal of respective Government department and corporations so that works and employees are not forced to come on roads every now and then, Hakeem Yaseen added.
He has castigated the present dispensation for its total failure to meet due expectations of the people and its employees despite getting huge special financial packages from the Centre. He said Govt. has failed on all fronts to provide any respite to the people may be it providing security to the common people, Law and order situation, development scenario or providing basic services to the common men. “People of the state have been left at the mercy of situation who are caught between devil and the deep sea,” Hakeem Yaseen observed.
