Commuters thrash traffic cop in Srinagar

Srinagar, Jun 13: A traffic cop was thrashed by a group of commuters after he ran after a young driver forcing him to ram his vehicle into other vehicles.
The incident occurred at busy Residency Roads here in Kashmir capital Srinagar.
Eyewitnesses said that a traffic cop on duty tried to stop a vehicle, but when the young boy didn’t stop, the cop chased the vehicle and pulled the key of the vehicle when it was in motion. The driver lost the control and the vehicle was rammed into other vehicles.
The affected commuters came down from their vehicles and accused traffic cop for all the mess. They manhandled and thrashed the cop. The intervention of passersby saved the cop from further beating.
A police official said that they have taken cognizance of the incident and action will be initiated against the guilty. (CNS)
