Akhilesh Yadav says conspiracy behind reports of damage to Lucknow bungalow he vacated

Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said there was a conspiracy behind reports that he damaged a recently-vacated government bungalow in Lucknow.
Akhilesh said the Bharatiya Janata Party, which is in power in UP, is rattled after repeated defeats in recent by-elections.Akhilesh’s statement came after UP?Governor Ram Naik asked chief minister Yogi Adityanath to take action after damage was discovered in the government accommodation.According to an official spokesman, the governor sent a letter to Yogi saying the issue of damage caused to the 4, Vikramaditya Marg bungalow after it was vacated by the former CM has become a point of discussion in the media and among the people.Terming the damage to the bungalow as “improper and a serious issue”, Naik said the residences allotted to former CMs belonged to the estate department and their construction and maintenance was carried out from the taxpayers’ money.“Therefore, appropriate action as per law should be taken for causing damage to government property,” he added.Earlier, the governor had summoned senior officers of the estate department to get information on the bungalows vacated by former CMs following a Supreme Court order. The officers informed the governor that video recording of the bungalows allotted to former CMs had been carried out and the bungalow allotted to Akhilesh was found in a shambles.
