50 MW Grid Station to come up at Khansahib soon: Hakeem Yaseen

Srinagar, Jun 5: Government has decided to construct a modern 50 Megawatt Power Grid station at Khansaheb, Budgam. Funds for construction of the proposed grid station would be provided under Prime Minister’s Special Assistance Plan.
Assurance to this effect was given to the MLA, Khansahib, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen by the Power Minister, Sunil Sharma at a meeting held Wednesday morning to discuss measures for further improvement in the power system in Khansahib area in district Budgam. Minister while acknowledging the demand of Hakeem Yaseen asked the Engineers and officers, present in the meeting , to complete all the requisite formalities in this regard at the earliest so that work on it can be started.
The Minister also asked the engineers to prepare DPR for construction of a separate receiving Station at Chanthan Chakpora immediately adding that the work on Recieving Station at Raithan would be started within one month under Deen Dhayaal scheme. The Minister assured Hakeem Yaseen that adequate funds would be provided for improving LT/ HT network in various areas of the Khansahib constituency. He said no stone will be left unturned to provide better power supply to the people of the state with more focus on rural areas. He said all the hitherto un-electrified habitations would be electrified on priority.
