Security forces put on high alert in J&K

Srinagar, Jun 1: High alert has been sounded across Kashmir in view of the reports about the possibility of fresh strikes by militants on the eve of Jang-e-Badr anniversary and Fridays.
Talking to a news agency, Director General of Police S P Vaid said “an alert has been sounded across Kashmir in view of the reports received from districts about the possibility of some groups of militants planning to carry out fresh strikes in Kashmir on the eve of Jang-e-Badr and Fridays in Ramadhan.”
Saying that all precautionary measures have been taken to counter any offensive from the militants, Vaid said “different groups including those affiliated to Jesh-e-Mohammad are planning strikes in some parts of Kashmir valley to create violence and panic the people.
Meanwhile, reports said that police and para militaries CRPF was conducting intense frisking of the travelers in the Srinagar city and more so on the airport road. Barricades were eructed at entry and exit points in several areas of Srinagar city and major towns of Kashmir valley for frisking the pedestrians. (KNS)
