Kashmir remains shut, old city tense

Srinagar, June 2: Kashmir obesrved a complete shutdown on Saturday to protest against civilian killings and the desecration of Jamia Masjid.
Kashmir’s Joint Resistance Leadership of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik has called for shutdown in Kashmir today.
All shops and other business establishments remained closed while public transport was off the roads in Srinagar.
The situation remained tesne in Srinagar’s old city following the death of a youth who was run over by a CRPF vehicle in Nowhatta on Friday.
