Malik pays tributes to Mirwaiz Farooq, Khawaja Lone

Appeals people to follow JRL call in letter and spirit

Srinagar, May 20: Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik on Sunday paid tributes to Shaheed I Millat Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq and Shaheed I Hurriyat Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone.
Malik in a statement said that both the leaders represent the essence of unity and oneness of Kashmiri nation.
“Shaheed I Millat as a young man strived for the return and recovery of Moyay Muqadas under the banner of a united front and till his last breath stood and strived for unity among Kashmiris and Shaheed Hurriyat breathed his last while defending unity and oneness of this nation,” Malik said.
According to the spokesman, JKLF chief who is in police custody from last many days, in his message on the martyrdom day of Shaheed I Millat Mirwaiz I Kashmir Muhammad Farooq and Shaheed I Hurriyat Kahawja Abdul Gani Lone has said that the best tribute to be offered to these great sons of soil is to safeguard unity and oneness among the ranks and files of resistance camp.
He said that “both these martyrs represented the essence of unity among Kashmiris and it was our duty to stand united and one against Indian hegemony and aggression.”
Malik said that the freedom struggle of Kashmiris is adorned with the blood of martyrs and therefore no power on earth can defeat it by oppressive measures. “Shaheed Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq and Shaheed Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone strived for a holy cause and sacrificed their lives for the same cause and therefore wrote their name with honor and dignity in the annals of our history,” he said.
Recalling the efforts and sacrifices of Shaheed I Hurriyat Khawja Abdul Gani Lone’, Malik said that he was one of the preeminent politicians, intellectual and a humble Human being who fought for the cause of freedom, endured all hardships, sufferings and miseries but never compromised on his principles.
He said that Lone rejected power and position and joined the rank and file of the freedom struggle and never looked back. “The going away of Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone Shaheed from this worldly life was a personal loss to me as I learned a lot of things from him and even today I take him as my teacher and feel proud to be his student,” Malik said.
He said that JKLF will never forget the sacrifices rendered by Shaheed Lone for the freedom struggle. “He was an intelligence person, a brave human being and a wise politician whose love, respect and regard will remain in our hearts for the ages to come,” he said.
Remembering the struggle and sacrifices of Shaheed I Millat Mirwaiz Mohammad Farooq, Malik said that “Shaheed Mirwaiz belonged to a family that has always inspired Kashmiris. His family led this nation in the fields of politics, education, religion and many other walks of life.”
Malik said that “Mirwaiz Shaheed himself endured hardships of jails, torture and oppression in the way of freedom but never surrendered before tyranny and oppression. He never shied away from resistance and sacrifices and stood firm at the times of hardships and finally sacrificed his life in the way of truth and freedom.”
“The main message of both these great martyrs was unity and today when our freedom struggle is at a crucial stage we all need to strengthen our unity and resist the might of Indian with unity and oneness,” he said.
Malik said that today on the occasion of martyrdom anniversary of these two great leaders, JKLF remembers them and prays to Allah almighty for elevation of their position in Jannah.
Appealing people to march towards Eidgah (Martyrs Graveyard) and gather there to pay tributes to great martyrs, Malik said that Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) call should be followed in this regard in letter and spirit. (KNS)
