Kashmiris want resolution not cosmetic measures: JKDFP

Srinagar, May 20: Asserting that Kashmir dispute cannot be resolved through development or mere cosmetic measures, but by practical political steps, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has said that Kashmiri people are fighting for their right to self determination, as promised to them by international community through various United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
In a statement, JKDFP spokesperson said had political issues been settled through deceptive politics, India would have still been under the British occupation. It was the political will of then Indian leadership, and the resolve of the people that British imperialistic state had to vacate the country. Same is the case with Kashmir today and ironically New Delhi is playing the role of British now.
The people of Jammu Kashmir have time and again resolved that they want an end to their miseries which is only possible when they are allowed to enjoy their right to self determination. For this, Kashmiri people have rendered precious sacrifices and their freedom struggle has become costlier than that of India.
JKDFP while remembering all the martyrs of Kashmir, paid rich and glowing tributes to Shaheed-e-Millat Maulana Muhammad Farooq, Shaheed-e-Hurriyat Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone and Martyrs of Hawal on their anniversaries.
JKDFP spokesperson while paying tributes to Shaheed-e-Millat Maulana Muhammad Farooq, Shaheed-e-Hurriyat, Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone and Martyrs of Hawal, said that the whole Kashmiri nation is indebted to their sacrifices and are morally bound to take the mission of martyrs to its logical conclusion. The spokesperson said that the sacrifices offered by the great martyrs of Kashmir are the real assets of the freedom struggle and these sacrifices have and will always act as our inspiration and motivation.
