Mirwaiz hits out at govt over lack of basic amenities at Jamia Masjid

Srinagar, May 14: Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Monday cornered the Jammu and Kashmir government over what he said unavailability of basic amenities in Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid.
Taking to micro blogging website, Mirwaiz said: “Held an Auqaf meeting to take stock of preparations for holy month of #Ramadhan .Civil admin totally defunct especially the SMC! Total apathy towards #JamaMasjid and its surroundings,Even basic amenities not available ! Why such apathy and callousness I ask ?”.
Jamia Masjid in downtown Srinagar remains abuzz with activities, where people get involved in reading religious texts and offering prayers during the holy month of Ramadhan.
