Elderly person injured by bear in north Kashmir

Srinagar, May 10: A wild bear attacked and injured a 55-year-old person in north Kashmir district of Baramulla on Thursday, official sources said.
They said a bear entered village Check Teran Tangmarg from nearby forest Thursday morning. However, before the villagers could do anything, the bear attacked and injured Mohammad Ashraf Khan. The injured was rushed to local hospital from where he was referred to Srinagar, they said adding the wild animal later escaped back into forest.
The villagers protested against the wildlife department for failing to protect them from the wild animals.
