Tourism deptt issues advisory for safety of tourists, hoteliers asked to cooperate

 

Srinagar, May 09: Jammu & Kashmir Tourism department has issued an advisory for all the stake holders connected with the activities of tourists in Kashmir.
The step to issue and advisory has been taken in view of the unfortunate that happened very recently and was condemned by people of all shades irrespective of political affiliations and ideologies
Talking to a news agency Vice Chairman J& K Tourism Development Corporation Rafi Ahmed Mir said “The advisory was issued keeping in view the unfortunate incident that took place very recently and was condemned by people of all shades cutting across political affiliations and ideologies. Under the advisory the tourists will travel to their destination with the prior information to the road opening party of the police and their movement to other destinations will be also taken care of by the tourism department in cooperation with the tourist police and the forces to be deployed on routes leading to tourist destination.”
In reply to a question, Mir also said that the issue came up at the all party meeting which was held today with Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in chair and people were appealed to take care of the safety of tourist at their end so that a stigma is not caste on the world famous hospitality of Kashmir.
He said peace is always paramount for tourism and once more the central government was urged to take some measures for stopping the killing of civilians in forces action.
Mir said government also wants dialogue with Pakistan and the people of different political ideologies in Jammu & Kashmir. (KNS)
