Centre never respected sentiments of Kashmiri’s: Hakeem Yaseen

Srinagar, May 9: Saying that genuine sentiments and emotions of Kashmiri people were never respected by the Centre since 1947, Chairman PDF and MLA Khansahib, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen said that non fulfilment of promises made to the people in the Agenda of Alliance (AOA) by the PDP-BJP coalition Govt. has further added to their alienation. He has accused the present dispensation of eroding the total system in the state especially institutions of democracy, justice, law and order.
Speaking at the all parties meeting convened today to deliberate upon the prevailing chaotic situation in the state, Hakeem Yaseen said that the PDP-BJP coalition government have once again betrayed the trust of people by not fulfilling promises made to the people in their AOA including revocation of AFSPA, unconditional release of political prisoners, return of power projects from NHPC and facilitating dialogue process between India-Pakistan to resolve Kashmir problem. He said the present dispensation did not made any serious effort to provide jobs to the unemployed youth of the state .He said instead of trying to win hearts and minds of the Kashmiri’s to remove alienation among people, centre preferred Military might and oppression over confidence building measures to quill public anger and dissent. He said contrary to the expectations of the people, PM Narendra Modi, though being the most power leader of the country ,never made a serious effort to take on board all the stake holders to resolve Kashmir problem. “Instead, he too sold Kashmir bloodshed as a cash crop to win votes of a particular community,” Hakeem Yaseen regretted. What happened to the tall claims of the present coalition government about zero tolerance against human rights violations in the state, Hakeem questioned. He said situation in Kashmir was worst than today in 2002 , still then Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee unilaterally made a bold beginning for a dialogue with its neighbouring country Pakistan to resolve bilateral issues especially Kashmir imbrilogo. “This kind of serious initiative was need of the hour to end the ongoing bloodshed and mayhem in the state, Hakeem added. He said present govt was totally responsible for the debacle of state’s economy by enacting GST Bill adding that ailing tourism sector in Kashmir was another success story of the present dispensation.
It was suggested at the all party meeting that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti should lead an all party delegation to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to devise ways and means for making a congenial ground for talks with all the stakeholders of Kashmir dispute including leaders of various separatists organisations and militants outfits. It was also suggested that the Government should unconditionally release all the political detenues from jails as a CBM. It was also suggested that the government should announce unilateral ceasefire in view of the ensuing revered month of Ramadan.
