Telangana CM Chandrasekhar Rao meets DMK president Karunanidhi, discusses ‘truthful federalism’ with Stalin

Chennai: Continuing his efforts to form a third front sans the BJP and the Congress, Telangana chief minister and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday called on DMK president M Karunanidhi at the latter’s Gopalapuram residence here. He was received by DMK working president M K Stalin.
After exchanging pleasantries with Karunanidhi, KCR had a prolonged meeting with Stalin at the latter’s Alwarpet residence.
Both of us had a telephonic conversation with Mamata Banerjee and we will further talk to other leaders across the country. We are firm that India should be a secular country, there is no second alternative about it: Telangana CM KC Rao after meeting DMK working pres MK Stalin
“This is not the beginning and not the end. We have been discussing and it will take 2-3 months to reach a consensus,” Rao said.
Stalin said the discussion was focused on strengthening states. “I invited KCR to participate in the State Autonomy Conference being planned by the DMK soon. Political decisions including alliances can be decided only by the internal decision making bodies, including general and executive councils,” he said.
