Delay in SSA salary cause of concern for teaching fraternity: EJAC

Srinagar, Apr 26: President EJAC, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir teachers for Abdul Qayoom Wani condemned the arrest of Javid Ahmad Mattoo master District Kulgam.
Wani said that teachers forum at dist level has approached worthy Deputy commissioner and SP Kulgam for the release of the teacher but till now the teacher is in police custody.
In a statement, EJAC president urged upon the worthy chief secretary, worthy DG Police, Worth Divisional commissioner and Deputy commissioner Kulgam for immediate release of the teacher so that teaching fraternity may not be compelled to opt the path of agitation.
He also said that unnecessary and continuous delay in SSA salary is serious cause of for whole teaching fraternity and now SSA teachers have become the worst victims of the situation at financial as well as social level.
Wani urged upon the Finance/Education Minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari for linking the SSA salary with state sector for which he has assured the leadership of teachers forum but the continuous delay in this regard has put the SSA teachers in mental trauma which seems to be unbearable now.
President EJAC has assured the SSA teachers that teachers forum will take necessary and result oriented steps for stream lining of SSA salary for which an emergency meeting of state, provincial, district and zonal level office bearers has been called on 28th of April at Central office Srinagar to chalk out result oriented strategy for the resolution of this long pending issue.
Wani urged upon the Education Minister to resolve this human issue at an earliest because teachers do not want to leave the classroom and to come on roads for their legitimate salaries. (KNS)
