Slew of activities under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan held in Kupwara

Kupwara, Apr 20: The celebration of “Gram Swaraj Abhiyan” is being held with great enthusiasm in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. An activity calendar has already been circulated for the Abhiyan since 14th April and the programme will conclude on 5th May 2018.
As part of activities, a Dinner Talk at Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel Kupwara was organized by the District Administration Kupwara through District Social Welfare Officer and warden Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel. The function discussed the contributions made by Dr. Ambedkar, the Chief Architect of Indian Constitution.
Many cultural events, debates and speeches were presented by the hostel inmates, which were received with appreciation and loudly applauded by the audience comprising officers and members of civil society. The events performed by specially-abled children remained the main attraction.
While speaking on the occasion, DC Kupwara Khalid Jahangir highlighted the contribution of Dr. Ambedkar and informed children about his valuable contribution. He appreciated the participating departments for making the cultural event a big success.
SSP Kupwara, CPO Kupwara, District Officers, Media fraternity and civil society members participated in the event.
