Mobile internet service restored in Jammu


Jammu, Apr 18: The mobile internet services were restored on Wednesday afternoon in all the three districts of Jammu region.
The mobile internet service was snapped on Tuesday in the wake of an alleged sacrilegious act here in the city outskirts.
“To prevent rumour mongers from circulating any kind of objectionable or provoking content on social media, the mobile internet service was temporarily snapped in Jammu, Samba and Kathia districts,” said an official.
He said that it was suspended due to an alleged sacrilegious act reported in Bishnah area.
The official further said that Section 144 of CrPC (unlawful assembly) remains in force in city outskirts as preventive measure.
Hundreds of people on Tuesday staged demonstration seeking action against the culprits, who tried to disturb peaceful atmosphere of the region.
At least eight people including cops were injured in the clashes while two vehicles damaged.
