Karnataka polls: Ramanath Rai files nomination papers on ‘auspicious day’


Mangaluru: Minister for forest, environment and ecology Bellipady Ramanath Rai filed his nomination papers to contest from Bantwal constituency in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka.
Rai, accompanied by a large number of Congress workers, walked from party election committee office near BC Road KSRTC Bus Stand to Mini Vidhan Soudha in Bantwal to file nomination papers. Earlier, at a party workers meet, Rai said he has worked sincerely for the constituency during his stint as the MLA of Bantwal since 1995.
“Congress is my religion. I am not contesting in any religion’s name.
