Srinagar, Apr 15: The ousted BJP Ministers Chaudary Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga, who were forced to tender their resignation for participating in a rally organized by Hindu Ekta Manch, have claimed that they participated in the HEM rally on the directions of the BJP’s state president Sat Sharma.
It’s in place to mention here that HEM had organized a rally in favour of the accused arrested in connection with the rape and murder of minor nomad girl in Kathua.
“We were sent by the party. Our party president Sat Sharma sent us. We went there on the party’s instruction,” Ganga told a news channel.
He said that he tendered his resignation to save the image of his party. Even Lal Singh said that they went to Hira Nagar on the instructions of the party president.
An analyst while talking to Precious Kashmir said, “It looks like that both the BJP ministers are trying to send a message across that they were made the scapegoats and to send them was to attend the rally was the collective decision of the party.”
He said, “Lal Singh even accused the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti of not handing over the case to CBI on the directions of veteran separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.”
A Kashmir watcher said that two BJP Ministers tendering their resignations could open a Pandora’s box as both of them look annoyed and have openly started demanding that the rape and murder case of the victim should be handed over to Central Bureau of Investigation.
A source said, “Day before Singh and Ganga tendered their resignations Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti called the BJP President Amit Shah and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. She sought help from them to diffuse the tension in the state over the Kathua rape and murder.”
He said, “After Mehbooba called both the leaders they directed Lal Singh and Ganga to tender their resignations and bow out.”
An insider revealed that both the ousted Ministers know it very well that they have been caught on wrong foot. “In coming days they may give more statements to prove that they were not the only ones who were supporting the Hindu Ekta Manch. There is every possibility about more facts coming to fore in coming days and more heads can roll,” he added.
A political expert said, “If sacked BJP Ministers indulge in mudslinging and start targeting the PDP and the Chief Minister it can trigger yet another row.”
