Youth planning attack on security forces arrested in Kulgam: Police

Srinagar, Apr 12: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a youth, who with Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants, was planning to carry out an attack on security forces in south Kashmir district of Kulgam.
“Police Post Frisal, Kulgam, based on reliable information that the members of HM and LeT have planned to carry out attacks on security personnel to snatch weapon, arrested one of the accused identified as Roshan Zameer Bhat son of Mohammad Amin resident of Nowpora Frisal,” a police spokesperson said.
“In this regard a case FIR number 23/2018 was registered in Police Station Yaripora and investigation was set into motion,” he said.
During initial investigation, he said the accused person disclosed that he has kept the illegally acquired explosive material at his residence. “During search, one Chinese Grenade was recovered. Further investigation is going on,” he added.
