3 houses, Govt School damaged due to lightning at Uri

Uri, Apr 10: Three residential houses and a government primary school were damaged in two separate incidents of lightning at Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday night, police said.
A police official said that lightning struck in Choola and Zamboor Pattan villages of Uri, damaging three residential houses and a government primary school.
He said that residential house of Sakhawat Hussain and Manzoor Hussain of Ghati Zamboor Pattan Uri also suffered partial damage.
Police informed Precious Kashmir that at around 12:30 lightning struck house of Mauzam Ali Shah son of Mir Ali Shah of Kalsa Choola Uri, damaging it partially.
Zonal Education Officer Chandanwari Ghulam Jeelani khawaja while talking to Media that a primary school at Ghati was also partially damaged in the lightning.
“Window panes of primary schools were damaged. However today classes were managed by the department after immediate renovation,” he said.
Police said that no loss of life was reported in the incident.
