3 kidnapped girls traced, handed over to parents

 

Srinagar, Apr 9: Jammu and Kashmir police rescued three girls and arrested their kidnappers in separate incidents in Kashmir valley, a police spokesman said on Monday.
He said Police Station Achabal received a written complaint from one Mohammad Rafiq Itoo, resident of Nunwan, Achabal that his daughter has been kidnapped.
In this regard a case FIR No. 32/2018 under section 363 RPC was registered in police station Achabal and investigation was taken up.
The police after putting strenuous efforts recovered the girl and arrested her kidnapper Ishfaq Ahmad Sheikh resident of Gopalpora Anantnag. After completion of all legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her family members. The general public of the area and family members of the girl thanked and appreciated Anantnag police for its prompt and swift action.
He said a case was registered in Police Station Gund that a minor girl (name withheld) was allegedly kidnapped by one accused Mohammad Afzal Beigh on Sunday at Gund in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal. “A special team was constituted and a manhunt was launched to nab the culprit,” he said.
He said after followed various leads, police succeeded in recovering the minor girl and arresting the accused on Monday. “The girl was handed over to her parents and the accused is now behind the bars,” he added.
The spokesperson said that a case was registered in Police Station Pulwama that a minor girl (name withheld) was kidnapped by one accused Tariq Ahmad Wagay on April 1, 2018. “A special team was constituted and investigation was initiated,” he said.
He said after following various leads, police was finally able to recover the minor girl and her kidnapper on Monday. “The girl was handed over to her parents and the accused was taken into custody,” he added.
