1665 Anganwadi Centres provided toilets under Swachh Bharat Mission

Rajouri, Apr 6: As part of special drive launched by the district administration under Swachh Bharat Mission in the district, about 1665 Anganwadi Centers have been provided with toilet units.
With this effort, over 16000 children enrolled in these Anganwadi Centres across the border district Rajouri would get benefitted from this Prime Minister’s flagship programme.
Out of these total units, 550 have been established in the villages of various blocks located along the Line of Control, 316 AWCs in Budhal, 285 in Darhal, 211 in Kalakote, 199 in Manjakote, 211 in Nowshera, 279 in Rajouri and 164 in Sunderbani.
The district administration has constructed 80382 toilets, so far, in 295 panchayats with endeavours to achieve 100% coverage this month. Besides, in 19 Community Development Blocks, more than 60488 toilets have been constructed in a short span of time.
The District Administration launched a special mission last month to construct 60,000 Individual Household Latrines (IHHL) to achieve 100% coverage of 1,10,000 families.
