Policies adopted by Govt pushing Kashmiri Youth to canons of militancy: NC

Anantnag, Mar 29: Coming heavily on PDP-BJP collation Government, senior National Conference leader Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri on Thursday said that anti-people and repressive policies of collation government were pushing Kashmiri youngsters to canons of militancy.
Addressing a daylong party workers meeting in Anantnag, Dr Veeri said that the present regime has completely failed to address the issues of common Kashmiri particularly those pertaining to younger generation.
“On one side due to unemployment rate among our highly educated youth has reached above 40 percent compare to 17 percent at all India level is generating lot of frustration and at the same time instead of addressing this pressing issue government has adopted repressive anti youth polices by summoning them to police station and imprisoning them under draconian laws,” said Veeri
He said that the deep rooted alienation proves the fact that this government has completely failed to control the situation and recent trend of joining of highly qualified boys in the ranks of militants is reflecting utter failure of the government at to address the issue.
He asked the government to relook its policies and adopt such measures which will help in wining over the youth and improving the situation.
Dr Veeri said that administrative failure on gross root level has caused disillusionment among the people of the state.
He said that corruption is deepening its roots and large scale bungling in central sponsored schemes like MGNREGA by workers of a particular party is going on unabated.
“In violation of codal formalities, funds of various schemes meant for the welfare of common public are being diverted to benefit party workers. Scams being exposed go unnoticed and corrupt officials are being encouraged,” he added.
There is complete lack of transparency and accountability and people are being taken for ride and the government offices have became hub of commission and corruption, he added.
Veeri said that people are being deprived from basic amenities like drinking water, ration and adequate power supply.
He asked party workers to intensify political activities and strength the party at gross root level. (KNS)
